I am a scholar of Buddhism, pilgrimage, and cross-traditional insight whose work explores how diverse philosophical, contemplative, and cultural traditions have supported people in experiencing contentment and depth in their lives. My research ranges from Japanese Buddhism, Yogācāra philosophy, and pilgrimage practices in Japan and the United States to lived traditions and community-based inquiry in South Carolina. I write and teach for both academic and public audiences, aiming to foster reflection and dialogue across traditions, disciplines, and everyday experience. Through this work, I hope to support others in discovering insights that resonate with their own paths toward clarity and a sense of fulfillment.
